The Head Honcho of the Baron Family | Versatile. Forgiving. Fast.

Meet El Barón – the elevated evolution of JS Industries' cult classic Big Baron. Designed for surfers who want that mid-length flow without sacrificing responsiveness, El Barón is built to paddle early, draw classic lines, and still rip when the surf turns on.

A stretched-out version of the Big Baron, it features a narrower outline, increased rocker, and modern “reverse concaves” that enhance rail engagement and water flow. The result: a board that handles 4–8ft surf with more finesse, drive, and versatility—while still offering the smooth glide mid-lengths are famous for.

This is the performance mid-length you take out when you want to draw long lines, get in early, and still turn like hell.

Rocker: Low rocker with added curve in nose and tail for improved control and performance in critical sections.

Concave: Single to double concave, featuring JS’s reverse concave design – deeper underfoot and shallower at each end for maximum lift and drive.

Outline: More pulled-in nose and straighter tail than the Big Baron = better turning radius and top-end versatility.

Rails: Medium-low rail profile with generous overall volume—ideal for speed control and smoother turns in larger surf.

 Sizing Tips

Surfer Type Suggested Length Notes
Shortboarders 6'4"–6'6" Maintain maneuverability with added paddle ease
Weekend Warriors 6'8"–7'0" Early entry + easy glide in variable conditions
Longboard Converts 7'0"–7'6" Downsize but keep the glide and flow

Start with 2–4L more than your regular shortboard. Want trim and turn? Go shorter. Want glide and paddle? Go longer.
